Folks, I take reviews seriously and have to point out marginal restaurants as well as the good ones. I would give the New Century Buffet 2 1/2 stars if possible, but I'm going to give a three to help bring the average up. The current 1 1/2 star average is not really fair or accurate. They wouldn't still be in business if it was.

That being said, let's get on with the review.

This restaurant was built from a converted Media Play, so as you can imagine, the ceiling is way higher than you'd expect in a normal restaurant setting. The room is dark and the place could use some strategically placed lighting and decor. They could get creative with a space that big and add some kind of a  large garden/waterfall feature and possibly some sound dampening materials. The space is big enough for some faux Chinese structures around the tables. My guess is that ambience is probably not their biggest priority.

The staff was always friendly and and service was acceptable. I've been there a few times and have never seen a big crowd. The prices are in line for buffets in our area, but the prices have to match the product and dining experience delivered by their competitors. This is where the New Century Buffet falls short.

The problem with buffets that have low traffic is the freshness of the food bars. I did see that they would try to refill the bar with small amounts of fresh food, but that's usually a losing battle. There were a few items that I thought were tasty and fresh, but it was the exception rather than the rule. If you want to try this buffet then I would suggest using the hibachi grill to get the freshest quality food.

The buffet selection is ok, and they hit most of the bases as far as the different courses ranging from appetizers to dessert. You can find enough decent food to fill you up, but the exact thing you may have been craving may not be up to par with other Asian buffets.

I may return every once in a while by myself just to see if there are any improvements, but the fact of the matter is that there are better Asian buffets nearby. I guess the best advice I can offer is not to dine here with high expectations, then maybe they'll surprise you with a good meal.

As I said, this is a two and a half star buffet, but I gave it a three to help bring the current average more in line with reality.

The only nice things I can say is there is a fountain in the lobby, and the service was good, but outside of the French Fries, the food was terrible, especially the under cooked chicken nuggets, you won't see me in there ever again.

Was to over priced for what you got my two year didn't even like it, the food looked like it sat out for hours and if they brought out anything new it was small sizes so was hard to any unless you want to wait by it, wouldn't go back

Most of the food looked so stale...took some bites but couldn't finish it. The foods not fresh, probably from the night before and not authentic Chinese food. Either the food was too sweet or too salty. Definitely not coming back.

Was not good. Food seemed to be old and most was very dry. Not a lot to select from. Poor service. Waitress came to the table to bring check while talking on her phone. I will not come back here.
